Due to acquisition and restructure, this global manufacturing, retail and financial services business believes it can offer excellent career progression opportunities for a seasoned 3rd line level IT Infrastructure & Transformation Engineer who possesses up to date and hands-on technical skills, particularly with regard to web, virtualisation, back-up and recovery technologies, along with automation software and scripting, as well as the ability to supervise and take lead when required.

Working closely with the Change Manager your overall role as IT Infrastructure & Transformation Engineer will be to suggest recommendations and implement subsequently required infrastructure change, while utilising ITIL methodology, along with best practice change management techniques.

  • Contributing to IT strategy and infrastructure roadmaps
  • Helping transition new services to operational support
  • Working with internal stakeholders to identify business drivers and subsequent project requirements
  • Providing technical support to the BA’s
  • Producing documentation
  • Creating and maintaining a technical documentation library
  • Monitoring security standards compliance
  • Disaster recovery management

ith a strong working knowledge of IT infrastructure and related technology, you’ll also possess an understanding of security and compliance standards, IT project methodology and ideally be ITIL Foundation qualified.

A strong communicator, you’ll be naturally organised and pragmatic IT Infrastructure & Transformation Engineer, with demonstrable technical knowledge in the following: Windows operating systems, including Server, SQL Server and Active Directory. Web, virtualisation, back-up and recovery technologies. Automation software and scripting. LAN, WAN, firewall, proxy management and security.
